In today's job market it is far more important to have practical skills than theoretical knowledge. In the future, job applicants may not need any formal qualifications.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is true that in many job markets practical skills seem to outweigh the knowledge which is obtained from schools. However, I still wholly believe that formal qualifications are absolutely essential when people apply for a job in the future.
On the one hand, practical skills are vital keys to look for a job. Many people who drop out of schools since they do not have enough money to study at a university or they find it is more beneficial to acquire some real experiences can still be able to have a good job. Meanwhile, many fresh-graduates have to face the problem of being jobless due to the paucity of experience. Moreover, other people do not know to apply the sort of knowledge that they have learned in earning money because they cannot put the knowledge gained into practice.
On the other hand, we cannot deny the important role that qualifications have been playing in order to search for a career. First, people with excellent qualifications or with qualifications gained abroad are more likely to have a greater employment. Second, many jobs still need crucial theoretical knowledge. For example, a lawyer cannot do his or her job well without the letter of the law that he or she has learned. Finally, education has been developed so as to encourage people to pursue higher education as institutions provide an overall educational experience. Therefore, it might be the downfall of development when job applicants do not need any formal qualifications in the future.
In conclusion, it seems to me that qualifications still play an integral part in job applicants.
