On the one hand, there are some reasons why generating profit is of paramount importance to companies. First, by making a great amount of money, companies would be able to bear the burden of monthly running costs like staff salaries and rental fees, which is a matter of survival in an increasingly competitive market. This means that if they had the capital to maintain and expand their companies, they could create more job opportunities for the people living in the community. Second, the higher the profits earned by enterprises, the more taxes they pay to the government. As a result, the authorities may have more revenue to spend in key fields, including education and healthcare, which leads to an improvement in the quality of life of society.

On the other hand, enterprises should also have social responsibilities. In terms of the environment, if there is no contamination restriction comes into play, the firms, especially in the manufacturing industry, will potentially create pollution as much as possible to maximize their profits, which highly contributes to global warming. Companies, therefore, are required to have responsibility for disposal of waste, especially chemistry one, released into the environment daily. With regard to social activities, cooperations should pay back into the community and people living within in through charity and social benefits since they have the money to do so. Microsoft operation, for instance, spends millions of dollars annually to offer food and other necessities for children all around the world, which ensures them the basic standard of living.

In conclusion, while money is an integral part of companies, social responsibilities are of importance as well.
