Topic : What are the pros and cons of co-educational schooling?

Nowadays, co-educational schooling is popular in many countries. However, in other countries, single-sex education is preferred. It has always been a matter of concern whether its benefits are more than its draw backs. There are many advantages and disadvantages associated with co-educational schooling. Some of them are as follow:

One of the most disadvantages of co-educational schools is that because of interacting with opposite sex may promote distraction among male and female students which studying in a co-educational system. It is a possibility that they would not be able to concentrate on their courses. Another negative point is that due to physical and mental differences between male and female, their learning process may not be similar. Therefore, it seems that an individual teaching style is needed for each sex. For instance, it is said that boy pupils can learn engineering and math subjects better than girl pupils. The last downside is that in terms of personality, the majority of girls are peaceful. Whereas boys are seem to be more aggressive. As a result, attending of both genders in same class room may causes confliction.

On the other hand, one of the advantages in regarding to co-educational schooling is that it could lead to more competition between boys and girls. So, it contributes to improve their learning process. Particularly, as a usual, boy and girls students attempt to obtain higher marks than each other, Another benefits is that co-educational schools are more economical in comparison to single-sex schools. To illustrate, in some countries, co-education system is prohibited. Thus more schools are needed to be provided by governments in these countries. The last positive aspect can be that co-educational schools could help to improve social skills of both boys and girls. For example, it could be beneficial for their career life in the future, because they will have to interact with each others in the most workplaces.

In conclusion, I personally believe that benefits of co-educational schooling far outweigh its draw backs provided that it carefully controlled.
