Playhouse...

Hey. Keep Saturday night free. Got two tickets to Our Town
at the Metropolis Playhouse.
Okay, so the underlined parts got me real confused.
I googled and saw that Our Town is both a movie and a play.
But the only way I'm knowing for sure which one it is would be
by someone of you guys tells me what exactly is a playhouse?
I read it's a theater but that makes me even dizzier. Because in BrE
that would be just the building for theatrical plays. On the other hand however
in AmE it's the building for both movies and plays.
So can you guys tell me whether they're going to a movie or a play?Emotion: sad
