Playgirl

Hi.

Can we use playgirl in contrast to playboy for girls?

I haven't heard the word used alot in comparison to playboy. And it appears in several dictionaries but not all.

I don't regard it as a common word in English language. Can you think of any alternatives for it?

Ex. I don't like to neither date nor marry playgirls.

Thank you very much

Because of some sexist tendencies, in language and in attitude, I'm afraid there is no polite equivalent for 'playboy' for the feminine gender in the US. Playgirl , the name of a counterpart magazine, is the only place I have seen it in use.

Thank you very much Philip.

By your saying so, I have the impression that playboy is not an impolite word.

How does it sound when it is used to address someone. Does he get offended? or consider it as a compliment?

If I say Jack is a playboy, should Jack get angry or should he thank me for the compliment?

Thank you very much for your help
