Play catch

What is the name of a game where one tries to catch the other. I thought initially a catch game, but it seems only balls involves when you use the phrase "play catch".
Another thing, how to refer those people in the game?
Someone trying to catch - catcher.
Someone being catched - it ?

Thank you.

"tag" is one name for the game. The child trying to catch (or touch) the others is called "it"; once they catch (or touch) another child, that child becomes "it".
