Platform

A platform , like plat roof, where you can stand there to sightsee a performance or parade or landscape.

Is it called "lookout post" or "sightseeing stand"? It sounds awkward.

A 'lookout post' is primarily of a military sort. I have never heard 'sightseeing stand', but if it is graduated in steps like bleachers, a 'grandstand' is often used for VIPs viewing a parade.

Along highways, small areas where you can stop and view a beautiful landscape are called "vista points". This term would not apply to parades or performances, however.
