Plate

I've just finished eating and my mom is searching for the plate and I say:

Mom, I've put the plate on the dining table. OR

Mom I put the plate on the dining table.

Is there a difference between the usages?

Thanks!

What have you done just after ? You say " I finished eating and I put the plate on the dining table,it's only later that your mom looked for the plate.

This is what you want: I put the plate on the dining table.

Your mom wants to know what happened to the plate.

Hi,

So you didn't eat dinner with your plate on the table. Is that right? You ate it somewhere else?

Hi,

Help your Mom, then.
Put your plate in the sink, not on the table!
