Which of the following sounds more natural to a native's ear in terms of placement of 'for the first time'?

a) I have been speaking Italian since the day I was delivered for the first time into my mother's loving arms almost forty years ago.
b) I have been speaking Italian since the day I was delivered into my mother's loving arms for the first time almost forty years ago.
