Placed at strategic angles

Hi

In the book about magic the author writes:

Guard the patches (in the garden) with stones marked with pentagrams placed at strategic angles, the stars facing down so they won't attract attention.

Does it mean the pentagrams should be marked at the proper angles on the stones? For example two angles have their arms intersecting at 90 degrees ...

Hi, I've tried to figure out what those "strategic angles" mean but I failed miserably. Though I understand meanings both words, "strategic" and "angles", I can't put it together into sensible interpretation. Try to contact the author and ask him what it means.

Hi,

I take it to mean 'place the stones (which are marked with pentagrams) at angles (to the patches?) which best suit your magic strategy.
