Please let me know how is to distinguish the following words. In an advance language practice there is a sentence - There was a high overgrown hedge around the front garden, and...to park cars in the drive. There are four options: (a) room, (b) capacity, (c) area, (d) place. The correct answer is (a) room. Why is only "room" correct? I would say that "place" has the same meaning and can also be used from structure perspective. Please let me have an idea on that? Thanks
Top answer
Place is countable and requires an indefinite article; room is uncountable (in this usage) and does not require the article.
