place aricle here?

Hi,
Please tell me if the article 'the' is needed. I think the word 'system' is a contable noun. If I have what looks to be a foreign word,do I need to follow the normal grammar conventions? Should I italicize or put the word in a pair of quotation marks?

Ondol is a Korean heating system and I would like to use (the??) Ondol on the floor in my room.

Countability has nothing to do with the use of the definite article, only the indefinite article. Ondol is a proper noun and no article is needed with it in your example. You could of course avoid repetition and say: ...

Thank you, Cool Breeze and Neeraj Jain.

I think I wrote this sentence to ask a question on whether there is a need to attach an definite article and I think Mr. M said there is a need.
What I am confused about is putting a pair of quotation marks around what looks to be a proper name. What is the possible difference?

The 'Cow Power Program' was started in Vermont.
