Place an article before this?

Hi, I have a Korean word that is written in English alphabets based on how it is pronounced and that i s"Noraebang". It means "a singing room". Now, what I have difficulty is whether I should put an article like "a" before it. Should I? If one wrote a word in English alphabets based on how it sounds, is it "transliteration"?

Joe went to a (?) norasebang yesterday.

I have another Korean word that is written in English alphabets based on how it sounds and that is "hanok" and it means "a traditional Korean house".

Joe lives in a (?) hanok.

Is it "noraebang" or "norasebang" ? You have typed it both ways, and I don't know which is the typo.
