I'm preparing for the IELTS test next month and I wrote an essay for TASK 1. Could anyone help me to check it?
Here is my answer:
The first chart shows the breakdown of Australian domestic energy consumption for particular purposes. The second chart shows the relative amounts of greenhouse gas emissions per usage.
Overall, the majority of energy is used by heating and water heating. However, water heating and other appliances are the main sources of greenhouse gas.
Heating consumes the most energy, accounting for 42% of the total, while generating only 15% of total emissions. In contrast, just 15% of total household energy is consumed by other appliances which are responsible for 28% of the total gases. Similarly, refrigeration produces 14% of total emissions but consumes only 7% of the total energy.
The least polluting and energy-consuming activities are cooling and lighting. They release a total of 11% and consume a total of only 8%. In addition, nearly one-third of total energy consumption and total greenhouse gas comes from water heating.
