The charts illustrate the major reasons why people immigrated and emigrated the UK in the year 2007.
Overall, the percentage of immigration for having a definite job was highest, while that of having no reason stated was lowest. In addition, the figure for people who emigrated for having a definite job witnessed an upward trend, while that of formal study experienced the contrasting movement over the given period.
The proportion of immigration on formal study was 26%, which was 22% higher than that of emigration. Similarly, the proportion of arrival on Having a definite job stood at 30%, while that of evacuation was slightly lower, at 29%. On the other hand, 6% was the percentage of migration to the UK, while the rate of that of migration from the UK was 12% lower.
The figure for the resident whose arrival the UK on accompanying stood at 15%, while that of evacuation the UK was slightly lower, at 13%. In contrast, the figure for immigration on looking for work was 12%, which was 10% lower than that of emigration. Likewise, 11% was the rate of migration to the UK on other reasons, while that of migration from the UK was 3% lower.
