The pie charts in compare two years 1987 and 2007 in term of five main reasons lead to UK students’ choice when opting for school.

Overall, in each year, suitable degree courses were biggest concern for students in the UK to choose university. While the proportion of students who decided on school for the proximity between their parental houses and school was seen as the least popular factor in 1987, this figure for good sports and social activities became the least concern in 2007.

By the year 1987, students in UK paid most attention on school’s training programs and the quality of resources, reached at 35% and 21% respectively, compared with 19% for its extra – curricular and 15% for teaching quality. At the same time, only 10% British students attended for school due to the distance between parental houses and the university which grew twofold to 22% two decades later.

After 20 years, while training programs was still the most popular reason when enrolling at school, the quality of resources and extra – curricular were less prioritized by students ( 17% and 18% respectively ). And 18% students chose university based on teaching quality.
