Pick sb. up (also on foot)

Hello.

Can you use the verb 'pick sb. up' for example at a bus station when it's simply about going there on foot and meeting him/her to walk home together? It's not somebody that one knows. Let's say that one is doing a favour to a friend who cannot be there to meet him/her...

Thank you.

'To pick someone up' doesn't necessarily imply using transport although it's most often used in that way. As long as you are collecting someone and accompanying them then it's perfectly reasonable to use the expression.
