Physics professor capitalization?

Hi, everyone.

We asked this question from our physics professor. (Should I capitalize "p" of "physics" here?)

I think you should consult the chemistries department of your university for this information. (Should I capitalize "c" here? Is it correct to say "chemistries department", or should I say "Department of Chemistry"?

Thanks!
