Anonymous What is a Black Hole?

A "Black Hole" is a very massive and extremely dense 'heavenly body' that therefore has an extremely strong gravitational pull. It's gravitational pull is so strong that any object that comes near enough to it will be 'sucked' into it and can never escape from the black hole. In fact, even light waves in or near the black hole cannot escape the black hole's gravitational pull.
As we only see objects because light that bounces off the object reaches our eyes, we cannot see black holes with our eyes because no light waves can escape the black hole and reach our eyes. This is why they are called black holes. Of course they are not reall holes; they are only holes in the sense that once an object falls into their grasp, that object can never come out again. And again, those lost objects include light waves.
