Hi,
"Students who are deaf have a range of levels of communication skills; in this case, Sara is a proficient lip reader, but this is not the case with all students who are deaf."

Can I use "but this is not true" instead of 'but this is not the case' in this context above as in

"Students who are deaf have a range of levels of communication skills; in this case, Sara is a proficient lip reader, but this is not true with all students who are deaf."

What's the difference between the two phrases if yes?

Thanks.
