Essay & Composition Writing

Phrases

Hi there!

I have 2 questions:

1) "in relative slight period of time". can we write like this?
for example, in sentence: They will infect each other in relative slight period of time.
the meaning should be: "in a small period of time"

2) "their history starts from their penetration the territory of the US in 1987". Is this sentence is ok?

Thanks!
cheers =)

It should read "in the period from 1940 to the present" to maintain register.
