Phrases

I am struggling with the attached para in a text, I have replaced 5 with five and moved 460+ which was at the beginning of the sentance by adding over. The problem is "number 1 reason" which was originally #1 - a form I had never come a cross before. The question is how should I write the phrase....first capitals to emphasise, 1 as one, or as it is. Its not a phrase that googles well!

Five children die each week in Hungary because of avoidable accidents. Over 460 children visit a hospital each week. Avoidable accidents are the number 1 reason why children die in Hungary.
