However, I thought that the first one was natural, because I have seen it used by many people under their pictures as well as on the internet as a quote! So I am surprised to hear that it is not correct or common!

I have not so seen it, but then I do not look at others' pictures much (or at all). As a caption, grammar is of little concern.
