phrase (interpretation)

Can you envision a future Christmas where you print all your gifts instead of shop for them? It could soon be reality in even the most tech-averse household, and it might just end up saving the craftier among us lots of time and money.

Q) I have no idea how to interpret the underlined part. (craftier from craft? which is a noun or a verb? What about "among us?" I can't find connection of them with other parts of the sentence)

You could use a one-syllable adjective like "wise/smart."
and it might just end up saving the wiser / smarter among us lots of time and money.
(if you find "craftier" cumbersome)
