Phrase in a paragraph

Is this paragraph correct:


"I think it was enough, and actually very high-minded of her to say that people should be grateful to be alive.
I don’t think it was necessary, or even that it would make much sense, for her to thank God for PUTTING HER THROUGH THIS TRIAL, and not taking her life."



Note: I'm particularly interested in the part in capital letters.
