Hello guys, I was wondering how to understand a phrase like this:

'There is only so much things you can really protect'

Does the one who is saying a phrase like this means that

a.) you would never guess how many things there are to protect

b.) there are only a couple of things you can protect and nothing more

or is there any other explanation for this strange meaning contraption...
