Phrasal verbs

It was nice to catch up while we were waiting for her.
Is it correct?
Does "catch up" mean "to talk about our life"
He got of the car to check in the damage.
Is it "check in" or "check out"?!
A car from my company come by for in about an hour.
Does "come by for" mean "arrived"?!

"Catch up" means you shared all your news that has happened since you last spoke with each other. You are bringing each other up-to-date on your lives.

He got out of the car to check out the damage.

I don't know what you are trying to say with the last example: A car from my company come by for in about an hour.

"come by" ~ arrive
"for you" ~ to pick you up (and take you somewhere)
