Phrasal verb

hello all:

I heared a speech for an Iraqi Tribal cheif, he said this statment to the terrorist:

"go blow yourselves up there instead of blowing up Iraqi children"

my qusetion is why he separates "blow up" at the first of statment and not in the end. in other words when must we separate the phrasal verb?

Those phrasal verbs whose particles may be separated, require this separation if you are using an object pronoun. You can say: I took apart the engine I took the engine apart But you must say: I took it apart *I took apart it (this is wrong)
