Which is correct: Photo gallery of John Smith or John Smith's photo gallery?

And when the owner is alive we shold use " 's". Like "it is John's book".

You can use of for both animated and lifeless things, whereas 's acceptable for the first ones only. For example, you can't say a shop's window, here you need a window of a shop or s

I'd use "of" if the pictures were all showing J. Smith, and " 's " if the gallery was made by J. Smith.

Will it be correct if I write Photo gallery by John Smith ??? Yes, fine. You might write Photo-gallery with a hyphen, although I like it as it is. If it's a title, I'd capitalize Gallery.
