Phone conversatoin!!!
HI~everyone i have a question, plz heple me, here the thing:
MY friend work in a international Corp.she tell me:
when i answer the phone , and i actually check again who is caller lookging for , but when i I put him through. oop! wrong person, and she's boss tell her, make sure who is caller looking for next time!
Then she tell me that she really really check again , i say maybe you cannt understand his accent.
So who can she avoid this situaition again, buz work in a international corp, it will be have a lot of chance to meet foreign sales. My friend , her job include be a switchboard in her department.
Can i ask:Would you please help to provide her last name? or have anthor way to say??

Caller: I would like to speak with Mr. Chan, please.
Me: Of course, sir. But I want to make sure I connect you to the right person. Would you spell that last name, please.
Caller: C-h-a-n
Me: We have three persons with that name. Do you know his first name, or what department he is in?
Caller: Sales department.
Me:
