Phobic

Hi,

Do we need a hyphen while using 'phobic' to combine it with another word. Like this: Linda was a books-phobic person.

Or, is a hyphen unecessary?

Thank you.

Hi, I would use a hyphen. It stresses to the reader that you are inventing a 'temporary' word. It also clarifies that you do not mean this is a books person and a phobic person.
