phobia

Hello,
Do the following sentences make sense: "Some phobias can be traced back to traumatic childhood experiences.", "Some phobias stem from traumatic childhood experiences.", " Some phobias are caused by traumatic childhood experiences.", "Some phobias can develop from traumatic childhood experiences."? I was thinking of "phobias can grow out of traumatic childhood experiences," but it doesn't sound good to me. I don't know why. In the sentences above, can we use depression instead?

Thank you

Thanks Emotion: smile. As I think of it, "Phobias can be traced back to traumatic childhood experiences." might be OK as well.
