= For assuredly these clothes aren't (= do not identify) the thing to make itself under the action of suiting or satisfying to deal with / to tackle a tropical climate.

(text) Food is needed for life.----is = exists / belongs to
= Food is /exists in where the thing must be had for life.

(text) They were opposed to the proposed new airport. ----were = identified; to = to deal with / to tackle
= They made themselves under the action of opposing to deal with / to tackle the proposed new airport.
= They made themselves to take action of opposing to deal with the proposed new airport.

(text) Though it is not my problem, I still concern myself with it. ----with = to deal with
= Though it is not my problem, I still make myself concerned (under the action of concerning) to deal with it.
