Ph.D. Cover Letter

Hello everyone,
I have to send a cover letter for a PhD position and I need your notes and help since English is my third language and I am far to speak it in a perfect way.
Thank you in advance, I appriciate your help.

Dear Professor ****,
I am writing to apply for the ****** Ph.D. program: “******”.
In 2013, I graduated from the University of ***** in ***** with a Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering. Following my first degree, I remained at the same university to earn a Master Degree in Petroleum Engineering: Production of Hydrocarbons in 2015. Through my years of studying, I became very fascinated with Enhanced Oil Recovery and that is why I made very sure to make it a part of my master dissertation entitled: “**********“.
I am currently pursuing my first year of Oil and Gas Engineering Ph.D. Program in the University of ****** and the reason that makes me look for an opportunity to pursue my Post-Graduation studies in ***** is to make my wish of becoming a member of ****** comes true and to be a part of a prestigious laboratory in order to acquire a high-level international profile.
I would like to mention that fluid mechanics made a main topic through my whole education process. Some of the courses that I had in fluid mechanics are: Applied Hydrodynamics (Basics of Newtonian Fluids), Fluids Filtration in Porous Media, Fluid Mechanics in Porous Media and Petroleum Fluid Mechanics (which discussed the Mechanics of Non Newtonian Fluids and their Rheology).
You are definitely looking for a hard working candidate and I had proved during the five years of my studies that I am the one you are looking for. My grades reports and my achievements prove that I have always been one of the best students in my class (top five). I have made many presentations and I have been an active member in my class since the first day. I am also a good listener and a good team worker since I had worked with my colleagues in many projects within groups, I have been always the source of motivation, positive energy and sense of humor in my teams, I love the exchange of ideas and the constructive criticism that take place when working in a team because no matter what, two minds are always better than one so it is important to accept others’ points of views and to be prepared to gather knowledge from everyone and to stay humble because ego is the enemy of prosper. I also work well under pressure, challenges make me give the best of my best, I refuse the idea of the impossible, every problem has a solution and every challenge can be successfully resolved within an optimum period of time. I am also a very open minded person, a lover of travelling and meeting new people, I can easily fit in any culture and any work environment basing on the mutual respect and the other’s differences acceptance.
Finally, I express again my deep excitement, motivation and willingness to be an effective and dynamic member in a school with such a large success and honors in order to be a part in achieving *****’s visions. I am certain that my skills and my eager to knowledge make me an excellent candidate for this position. I have attached my curriculum vitae and I would be happy to send you any additional materials if needed. Thank you so much for your consideration; I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,

Some things to address:
1. Look at your use of tenses. You seem to be confused about when to use the past perfect, and seem to use it
