I am writing to apply for the PhD position “
...” , since I found it to agree with my own research areas of interest.
I graduated in XXX with a thesis concerning XXX which lead to a poster presentation in a national conference. During my bachelor I have taken several lab courses in both inorganic and organic chemistry as well as in the structure characterization of materials. Afterward I decided to continue my education in XXX where I am currently completing a Master in XXX which I will finish in June 2012. I am currently working in different projects related to XXX, moreover, I am collaborating with other group in XXX.
My year of thesis give me the possibility to improve my lab skills, work independently and learn how to optimize my time. I was trained in the use Electron microscopes (SEM and TEM) as well as in the use of Fluorescence and Raman microscopy and XRD analysis. In addition I gained experience in writing articles and reports.
I belive that pursuing a PhD with your institution will be the best choice for me since it will give me the opportunity to work on an excitement project within a worldwide leading company, where I can prove my skills and competence.
