I am applying for a PhD position in the field of public health. Following is my cover letter. Can somebody please help me and give some suggestions on the cover letter?

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am writing to apply for PhD student position at AA University.
In 2016, I completed my Master of Public Health degree at BB University. The program is academically-oriented and has trained me to draw on knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines to help define, critically assess and resolve a broad spectrum of public health problems and issues. I also hold a Master of Pharmacy degree from CC University in 2012. This program contained clinical knowledge practice and research methodology as well. During my studies, I have focused a lot on the field of epidemiology include prevalence estimating, incidence estimating, research methods, regression models, statistic programs and decision analysis program.
During my graduate studies, I have gained experience in research and public health education. In BB University, I had numerous opportunities practicing with STATA to perform statistical procedures and produce data reports and applied epidemiology research principles to these reports. My master’s thesis is “----------.” I choose to perform a scope review to compare the difference because there is a lack of database available. In CC University, my master’s thesis project, entitled, “----------,” has provided me with the opportunity to learn about research protocol writing, research design, database use and working with SAS and SPSS to generate reports. In addition to statistics programs, I have also gained experience in performing a course project in using TreeAge to estimate the cost-effectiveness analysis of ----------.
I am confident my skills, epidemiology background and knowledge regarding diseases and potential risk factors would provide beneficial to this position. I am eager to become involved with AA University and would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you in person to further discuss this position. Isn't the term 'a PhD candidate'?
Shouldn't you state clearly and immediately the field you want to work in, and what you want to research in that field? I don't get a clear picture of this from your letter.

In Sweden, the PhD position is considered more likely as a job. Once they have a clear goal and research project, then they open this position for application. This is the reason that I mentioned what I can do rather than which kind of research I want to do in my cover letter.
