Speech & Pronunciation

P.G. Woodhause's "Jeeves and Wooster'

I was wondering, whether my favourite series "Jeeves and Wooster" was good for learning English. I mean, given the story dates back to the beginning of the 20th centure, aren't the vocabulary, grammar or,perhaps, pronunciation too obsolete?

If you mean the television series with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry, then I would say that most of the accents used are modern upper middle class (RP) voices as I don't think the actors made much attempted to change their accents to match the date. However, the script is a different matter and all the slang terms are rather dated.

I suppose it really depends what you are hoping to learn.
