pet sitter thank you note

I'm trying to write a thank you note to my customers. I have two words I'm confused on. Can anyone help me? Here's my note. Thank you for being a loyal client and entrusting (or trusting) me with the care (or caring) of your "children". Your Pet Sitter, Irene

Both "entrusting" and "the care of" are fine. However, I would use "pets" instead of "children" in that sentence. Thank you for being a loyal client and for entrusting me with the care of your pets .
