Persuasion Essay - Reasons Required.

Question:
One of the professors art campus has decided to change from a ten-point grade scale (100 to 90 is an A, 89 to 80 is a B, etc.) to a seven-point grade scale (100 to 93 is an A, 92 to 85 is a , etc.) The professor is trying to engourage students to put more effort into their classes by raising the requirements. What is your position on this issue? Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper stating your position and supporting it with convincing reasons.

My Stand:
I disagree with the professor's idea of changing a ten-point grade scale to a seven-point grade scale.

Reasons:

1. Changing from a ten-point grade scale to a seven-point grade scale, the examiners either reduce the weight of the questions or reduce the number of questions, giving the students less chances of acquiring a good grade
2. For those students who do not perform at schloastic levels, it may be difficult to cope up with the new system and may even fail. Other students meybe discouraged by the fact that the exam is all the more difficult and may loose the potential to loose a good grade.
3. Only some students may see this point as a matter of working hard and prove for themselves but this will make students spend more time for their studies and limiting their time spent for the extra-curricular activities.

Another thing is if you guys can suggest if my points are correct for the persuasion essay that i am about to write.
