Personify

I heard a native speaker say (in a movie):

Your lack of knowledge personifies your ignoracne.

Personification means "a person who represents an abstract quality", how does this definition concord with the above sentence?!

Hi, Your example does not seem to be a good use of the word. I'd prefer Your lack of knowledge reveals (the extent of ) your ignorance or You personify ignorance. Clive

Hi,

Your example does not seem to be a good use of the word.

I'd prefer

Your lack of knowledge reveals (the extent of ) your ignorance

or

You personify ignorance.

I agree this is a bad example, or even a misuse of the term.

As a special insult, we might correctly say, "You are the very personification of ignorance!"

Edit.I somehow missed your second example, Clive.
