Personal statement need help

As I went to college and prepared to graduate, the thoughts of my home town were not far from my mind. I knew that my future was not to be a medical doctor, a scientist or historian. My life would not be fulfilled if I did not stay true to my self. I wonder sometimes why I did not choose a different profession. But what it truly comes down to is an old cliché “I want to make a difference.” I started to realize that this need did not start from college but from being raised in a town where people needed a helping hand. I am a natural when it comes to relating and understanding the needs of people. When I graduated from college I began to understand this was only a stepping stone. A stepping stone to my future goals and what I have strived for all my life.
