Everyone is screaming and running around. It is very noisy here. I am 4 years old and I am about to start my first art lesson. I take the brush and start to paint the lemon tree that stands on the windowsill in my kindergarten. And as my favourite painter Salvador Dali once said "At the age of six I wanted to be a cook. At seven I wanted to be a Napoleon. And my ambitions have been growing steadily ever since." Art has always been one of the most important parts of my life. Two years ago I graduated from Kaunas "Antanas Martinaitis" school of art. I had been attending part-time course for 4 years and received a graduation certificate with the highest grades. It involved 408 hours of composition and painting, 340 hours of pencil drawing, more than 200 hours of sculpture and history of art, and a full year course of studying video animation, design and computer graphics. Here I have learnt to use basic art techniques, to work with such computer programs as CorelDraw and to create short picture films. Not only had I been the top student all those years, but also, visited art galleries and communicated with respectable artists of Lithuania. Furthermore, workmanship involved me in an international project "South Caucasus is a part of Europe" which is funded by the European Union. I was picked through the selection for art workshop. Using a variety of multimedia we were increasing people's knowledge about South Caucasus. Recently I have helped to organize an international exchange between Lithuania, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. I was responsible for the welcoming event that involved the demonstration of traditional foods, dances and songs. Moreover, the citizens have been included in this event, so that they could understand the aims of the project. This experience helped me to develop my leadership and organizational skills which later on was useful in arranging my gymnasium 20 years' anniversary celebration where I was responsible for writing a script. Having received a rich systematic education in one of the best gymnasiums in Kaunas I am interested in your course because of the superlative and perspective opportunities to negotiate myself in artistic creations. From my point of view, graphic design and communication is one of the most opened and unfettered forms of art which can easily contain all types of creativity. I always try to catch every interesting opportunity that life offers me. I have participated in various essay writing competitions and recently I have succeeded in winning the 3rd place in the national writing contest, therefore, my article was printed in local newspaper and widely discussed with experienced journalists. Moreover, I am glad to study in the class which is involved in the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) education project for advanced and motivated students. For a number of years we have always been making the biggest progress and achieving the best results in the gymnasium. I consider myself as a flexible person that can work well independently and also productively cooperate with others. I am willing to face all future challenges because I am not afraid of making mistakes and I am happy to learn from each one. There has been not a single day that I was not trying to achieve something new. I am able to express my mind fluent orally because I used to attend drama classes for a number of years and played many roles in several shows. As well as attending extra curriculum activities I also studied the German language for 8 years, Spanish language for 2 years and began to learn French in addition to 9 years of English studies. As I am finishing this personal statement I cannot help myself thinking about all those prosperous skills I could develop while studying this specific course. On the whole, I believe I am a creative and energetic person. Now all I need to become a graphic designer is this specific course of Graphic Communication and Design.
