Personal stakes

Hello
I did not understand the meaning of some words in the following statement.

"It is not information of a general sort that helps a President see personal stakes; not summaries, not surveys, not the bland amalgams. Rather ... it is the odds and ends of tangible detail that pieced together in his mind illuminate the underside of issues put before him."

Would you help me, please? I have 3 questions.

1- What is the meaning of "personal stakes" in that sentence?
2- What is the meaning of "bland amalgams"?
3- What is the meaning of "the odds and ends of tangible detail"? Is "the odds" meaning probability?

I will appreciate your help.

Source of the statement: Strategy Safari - Henry Mintzberg
