Personal reference letter to the court

I have been asked to submit a character reference letter to the court on behalf of a long time friend. He is seeking to have the court expunge his criminal record of a felony conviction in an effort to gain employment. Every attempt to gain employment has been thwarted by criminal background checks by potential employers. He served a term in jail and subsequent parole sucessfully with no further problems with the law. This person is trying to turn his life around and has done everything in his power to correct his wrong doings and remain a law abiding citizen. He is an educated, skilled, intelligent individual who is unable to obtain an unskilled job. I would like to assist this person regain his life and livelihood as he has proved himself to be deserving of a second chance.

I would apprecite help in writing a character reference letter to the judge. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I do recall seeing a similar request to this several months ago. I found that by searching the Internet, I could locate a few sample letters.

In reality, you probably don't need a bunch of sample letters. All you need to do is show in detail how this person has done everything possible

Can you please assist me in writing a letter for a long time friend who is charged on a crimminal charge of being in possession of an unlicensed fire arm. this letter can aid in his being sentenced so any assistance that is given would be greatly appreciated.
