0Devil’s Spawn02br 02br 00 I once read on a television commercial, “If you really hate someone, they probably have something that you want”. My personal experience has taught me that hate has nothing to do with jealously or wanting something that someone else has. Hate is a very substantial word that should not be used as an ordinary word. A word such as this should only be used as a special demand. Everyone uses the word hate, but many people use it with disdain. Most of society can hate someone by just the other person accidentally stepping on their new shoes. You can’t base your hate on that one moment that someone loosed their balance. You can base hate upon ones character01i00, 02i00previous mishap01i00,02i00 and your overall feeling of that person. Very few really people understand the true essence of hate.02br 02br 00The person I have so much hatred for is Dustin Campbell. He is a Staff sergeant that I am forced to work with. He is nor my father 01i00less more02i00 my supervisor. He is just someone who likes to hear himself jabber. If it was a law that said that hate is the strongest word in the land and ye shall only use it once, with no thought process, I could tell you off hand who this righteous recipient is. Campbell is the kind of guy, when he does something or say something to you, you shrug it off. Nevertheless, his comment comes right back to you later with more punch than it did when it came out of his devilish mouth. I have evened tried looking into Campbell’s eyes to see if there is a real human being on deck, however I still see Campbell. Looking into his eyes is as though, looking into the hot pits of hell and there I see the devil’s spawn up to no good.02br 02br 00I don’t hate Sergeant Campbell because of the idea of just having someone to hate. I hate him because he finds time in his busy schedule makes my day miserable and full of darkness. He succeeds at this by looking at me the wrong way or just slightly brushing against me while he passes in the dark irregular shaped hallway. One day at work he decides that he wants to be my supervisor, knowing how much I hate him. He calls out to me and order me to come over to where he was sitting. “Williams, how would you like for me to be your supervisor?” he asked. Without thinking, my face balled up with so much dreadful emotion. When realizing how upset I was, Campbell smirked with the look of accomplishment. After I realized what he was doing, I regained strength to answer him. Sergeant Campbell I would love for you to be my supervisor, I said with an authentic smile. He laughed and said don’t worry about it I am just Joshing you! I began to walk away from Campbell, calling him all the names that the good book prohibited.02br 02br 00This special person in my life also has many other ways of disrupting my days. When ever I am in the hot break room, the stressful work area, or even at a relaxing work get-together, he always seems to make his appearance. When Campbell decides to make his way into the room, the temperature seems to drop below zero and the walls seems to begin to make sounds of agony. The walls sound out the pain but my stomach feels it all. Campbell is a very funny guy, I admit. Even when I think the jokes he makes are humorously funny, I won’t laugh. I wouldn’t laugh at one of Campbell’s jokes, if some one had a gun to my face.02br 02br 00I know what you are thinking. Having so much angry for someone is not healthy for the mind, body and soul. When someone like Campbell has so much selfless control over you, you have nothing else to do but feel this way toward him. When I read that quote from that television commercial, I was so enraged with anger. It sounds like it was quoted by a Jr. High student. I changed the channel instantly after reading and comprehending the quote. I believe if you have to you use the word hate, make sure you really understand what you are saying. I am reassured if you comprehended this essay, you will ask your self if you really do hate that person who just step on your brand new Birkenstocks or do you just dislike them.0-
