Regard my question: The title line comes from a math book. I think there should be a "the" before "letters." But it comes from a book and there are many such sentences like

As an imperative, it's fine grammatically, although I'd put quotes around 'Mississippi'.

However, I find it hard to think of a realistic scenario where you'd say something like that.

And for the sake of clarity, I'd probably be inclined to say 'the letters' (ie all letters) or 'some lett

FYI, this phrase comes from a math book on probability, where people are asked to compute the number of the different permuations we can get by permutating the letters of the word Mississippi.
