Perfume and cologne

Hi

Is the use of the word “perfume” strictly restricted to “women” in your neck of the woods or do you use it for “men” also. I have noticed that some dictionaries limit it to/for “women” only, but where I live both women and men wear perfume and the word “cologne” is hardly heard.

Thanks, Clive.

So would you cringe if someone told you that s/he liked the perfume you were wearing.
