Perform/carry out a range of accounting work

Hi,

Question:
Any difference between using perform and using carry out?

Sentence1:
I am able to use Excel to perform a range of accounting work, such as, balance sheet analysis and audit tests.
Sentence2:
I am able to use Excel to carry out a range of accounting work, such as, balance sheet analysis and audit tests.

Thanks

No, no real difference, but both are rather stuffy. And you have misplaced commas. I am able to use Excel for many accounting tasks/applications such as balance sheet analysis and audit tests.

Hi,

I know that usually there are no comma before and after "such as".

Is it incorrect to place comma before and/or after "such as"?

Thanks

It is a judgement call, uktous. Think about how restrictive the examples seem and think about sentence flow. Usually, no comma is needed.
