Perform an exercise, hackles

Hi,

1) I know that you can do an exercise but can you also perform it? “You shouldn’t lock your arms if you want to perform the exercise correctly.”

2) “When my dog gets angry with other dogs, he’s got raised hackles.”

“When my dog gets angry with other dogs, the hair on his back stands up.”

“Look, Marley’s raising his hackles.”

“Marley’s getting his hackles up.”

“Marley’s back hair is bristling.”

Are all of them possible?
