Perfect participial phrase

Having read the job description, I would very much like to apply for the position.

1)Is the participial phrase adjectival modifying the subject? I don't think it is adveberbial.

2) Would this re-write make the phrase adverbial?

Having read the job description, I realised that I would very much like to apply for the position.

3) Is there a better version to both of these?

Thanks

Thank you.

I just thought my first sentence doesn't really show the relationship between the ing clause and the main clause. The ing clause doesn't answer where when why etc, whereas...

in my second sentence it does: how did you realise? By having read.

Your paraphrases also don't make a connection, just as my first one doesn't.
